THC in Alaska

Alaska completely prohibits hemp-derived THC products by classifying all tetrahydrocannabinols and their isomers as Schedule IIIA controlled substances under state law, regardless of their hemp origin. This includes delta-8, delta-9, delta-10, and other THC variants derived from hemp. Alaska's hemp law does not exempt hemp THCs from the controlled substances list, making possession of hemp-derived THC products a misdemeanor or felony depending on the amount. The state's restrictive approach means that even though Alaska has legalized recreational marijuana, hemp-derived alternatives remain illegal for retail sale. Only THC-free CBD products (0% THC) are permitted, and the state has maintained these strict prohibitions despite having an established legal cannabis market since 2014.
