THC in Missouri

Missouri banned the sale of hemp-derived THC products through Executive Order 24-10, issued by Governor Mike Parson in August 2024, effective immediately. The order prohibits the sale of all "products containing psychoactive cannabis compounds" at retail locations, including delta-8 THC, delta-9 THC, and other hemp-derived cannabinoids in edible and beverage form. The Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control enforces the ban, with violations subject to disciplinary action and product embargos by the Department of Health and Senior Services. The action followed concerns about youth access, product safety, and hospitalizations related to hemp-derived THC consumption. While the Missouri legislature has considered various regulatory approaches, including bills to allow hemp beverages while banning other products, the executive order remains in effect.
