THC in Tennessee

Tennessee passed House Bill 1376 in May 2025, which became effective January 2026, fundamentally redefining hemp-derived cannabinoids to ban most intoxicating products. The law reclassifies THCA from a "hemp-derived cannabinoid product" to a "precursor of delta-9 THC" and specifies that synthetic cannabinoids like delta-8 THC are not "hemp-derived cannabinoid products." The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission now regulates hemp-derived cannabinoid products instead of the Department of Agriculture. The legislation effectively outlaws most hemp-derived products in the market including THCA flower, delta-8, delta-10, and other synthetic cannabinoids. Products must meet strict serving limits: no more than 25mg cannabinoids per serving for non-liquid edibles, 10mg for liquid edibles, and strict packaging requirements.
