THC in Wyoming

Hemp-derived THC products are banned in Wyoming following Senate File 32, signed by Governor Mark Gordon in March 2024 and effective July 1, 2024. The law prohibits adding synthetic substances to hemp, effectively banning delta-8 and other chemically converted cannabinoids, and requires post-decarboxylation testing that captures total THC including THCA conversion. Products exceeding 0.3% total THC by this testing method are illegal. The Wyoming Department of Agriculture enforces compliance through inspections and chemical testing. A federal lawsuit challenging the ban was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Kelly Rankin in August 2024, who ruled that the 2018 Farm Bill doesn't preclude states from passing stricter hemp laws. The plaintiffs have appealed to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, but the ban remains in effect.
